Attention Teabaggers & Other Anti-Government Protestors

Everyone understands that government is not perfect (unlike corporations, which always look out for the interests of average Americans), but the hostility towards the Federal Government in general and President Obama specifically is irrational. It is unlikely that Teabaggers are reading this, but if anyone knows of someone who fits this profile, ask them to review the following information and tell us how, with all honesty, they can justify their stance, particularly when these same critics were silent during eight years of Republican rule.

  1. The Teabagger Socialist-Free Purity Pledge - Please fill this out and keep a copy on the refrigerator to remind you of what you are against and what you are boycotting (Social Security, Medicare, Police, City Water, etc.).

  2. 10 Lessons for Teabaggers - There is a lot of false information being perpetrated from the far right (confusing who has actually cut your taxes and lowered the Federal deficit). This FACTUAL, INDEPENDENTLY RESOURCED document will clear up a lot of the misconceptions.

  3. Sean Hannity's Ridiculous War Against Socialism - This could apply to any of the right-wing talk show hosts, but if you consider yourself an anti-Socialism person, take a look at this column to make sure you are acting accordingly.

  4. Government is Good - Review this comprehensive site put together by a Professor of Politics at Mount Holyoke that demonstrates, in great detail, all the vital functions government has in our country.

But maybe we are overreacting. Maybe there isn't really this anti-government movement taking place. Maybe it is all for show, for ratings and a few minutes of fame. That certainly seems to be what happened at the 9/12 gathering in Washington, D.C. Let's look at a video of a Fair & Balanced Fox News producer coaching the crowd to scream during a live report. Of course, Fox did the right thing and fired her. On second thought, nevermind.
